Weimar, a renowned tourist destination in central Germany, is known for its cultural heritage and historical significance, branded as the capital of culture (Kulturstadt). Tourism has profoundly shaped the city, with historical buildings and statues meticulously preserved. This focus on cultural heritage creates a "Disneyland" atmosphere, where the city's past is carefully staged to enhance present-day cultural and historical tourism.
In the form of a travel guide, this work offers an alternative view of Weimar through the eyes of pigeons, challenging the city's "Disneyland" atmosphere created by tourism. Instead of typical tourist attractions, the guide focuses on places relevant to pigeons, such as where to eat and stay overnight.
Numerous copies are placed in the tourist information centre, inviting humans to explore Weimar from a pigeon's perspective, reshaping their perception of urban space.
