Jodie Luk Lai Wa
Jodie Luk (b.1996) is an artist and filmmaker working in Germany and Hong Kong, grounding her practice in comedy and storytelling. Working across moving image and installation, she uses humour and absurdity to create fictional narratives or scenarios, to explore the complexities of historiography.
Through the lens of her filmmaking background, she approaches historical narratives as constructions—edited and framed. She is interested in how these narratives continue to echo in the present, shaping contemporary cultural and national identities. Her practice searches for points of resistance—asking how we exist within, and drift along the currents of history.
