Jodie Luk Lai Wa (1996, Hong Kong)

An artist and filmmaker working in Germany, she grounds her practice in comedy and storytelling, ranging from video, intervention in public space and performance. Her work focuses on the experience of being the "othered", fuelled by the absurdities and injustices of daily life. She often creates satirical narratives in a humorously yet exquisitely serious manner and uses comedy as a means to subvert, critique, and reflect on boarder topics such as migration politics, historiography and cultural identity.
